Mr Ashish Gupta is a practicing General & Colorectal Surgeon in Epsom/ Surrey area. He works in Epsom & St Helier NHS Hospitals as a Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon, and offers private consultations and surgeries at Spire St Anthony’s Hospital in Cheam, Ashtead Hospital, The Clockhouse in Epsom and is a Consultant at Epsomedical at Cobham Day Surgery and Old Cottage Hospital in Epsom. Mr Gupta did his Basic Surgical Training in West Midlands from 2002 to 2004. After his basic surgical training he moved to Royal Free Hospital in London where he did clinical and laboratory research work with polymer scaffolds and intestinal cells towards a project of small intestinal tissue engineering. Since 2014, Mr Gupta has been a Consultant at Epsom & St Helier Hospital in Surrey. His main areas of expertise include Bowel (Colon or Rectum) Cancer especially treating them with minimally invasive key hole (laparoscopic) surgery thus minimising long incisions and expediting recovery process. His other interests include Inflammatory Bowell Disease (Crohn’s or Ulcerative Colitis), Diverticular disease, colonoscopy for polyps and proctology for haemorrhoids, fissure, and fistula-in-ano.
He also carries out most aspects of General Surgery like hernias and minor surgeries. Mr Gupta is adept at the latest techniques of haemorrhoid treatment including HALO/THD, RAFAELO procedure, which in some may be better than conventional haemorrhoidectomy, banding or injection.
